Our invited panelist was the Psychologist Geysa Flores of the organization Camino Psychological Services who supported us voluntarily to give this workshop to our community. At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Geysa Flores described the symptoms and behaviors that must be taken into consideration to determine if a child has ADHD or other learning problems. After this, Dr. Geysa explained the types of help parents could look for in schools and talk in more detail about how to access the different resources they offer.
Participants had the opportunity to ask questions during the workshop, and in the end, some of them shared their experiences. In this workshop, participants were able to obtain valuable information about Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity, as well as resources available in schools. Also, many doubts were displed about the learning problems and how to correctly diagnose them.
In the survey conducted at the end of the workshop, we found that the participants requested continuity to this topic. To expand information, emphasize effective intervention and treatment to reduce symptoms. In this regard, we note to include a new workshop in our schedule of activities for 2018.
