Queens Celebrates the First Festival “Colombia With You”

CORONA, N.Y. – With great joy, the community celebrated the 203rd anniversary of Colombian independence in the Big Apple with the first festival ‘Colombia with You’, which featured cultural nuances of great variety, thus captivating the attention of more than 500 people who attended.

Jorge Muñoz, leader and spokesman for MIRA USA, was responsible for the opening of the event, which he used share with those in attendance about the social work of the MIRA USA organization in the United States.

The event also had the participation of the consul of Colombia in New York, Elsa Gladys Cifuentes and Yoselin Geano, official representative of the office of District 31 of Queens, Councilwoman, Julissa Ferreras. 

The audience was greatly entertained when the featured guests came out on the stage. Among them were the renowned dancer Bonny and his doll, the King of the Vallenato International, Juan Carlos Castellar, The dance group “Cali Salsa Pal’ Mundo, and the group “Revolú”.

The organizers of the event gave interesting facts about the history of Colombian Independence, during an afternoon that united Colombians and friends, to celebrate the Colombian national holiday.
