TAMPA, Fla. – Miraists in Tampa met on Saturday November 9th to clean Dale Mabry Highway, from Waters Avenue to Hillsborough Avenue. Their only goal was to support the cause of keeping the environment clean by adopting that highway through the program “Adopt a Highway”.

From 7:30 in the morning more than 30 volunteers from MIRA USA gathered in the parking lot of Walmart Supermarket on Dale Mabry Highway to begin their work. They were assigned in groups to clean the street from each end of it, as well as from both sides.

During the ecological workday, they Miraists collected over 225 pounds of trash in a total of 15 bags. The items collected included cans, metal, paper, auto parts, and objects of wood, iron, and plastic, among others.
