That was how the first company to meet this request was “La Tortilleria” a sourcing supermarket and other shops based in Winston-Salem Company, which delivered three pallets on Friday 29 April.

The donations came to the parking lot of the Ecuadorian House Foundation, an organization in Charlotte appointed by the Embassy of Ecuador in Atlanta (Georgia) as a collection center.

There the Mira USA volunteers were given the task of selecting and properly packaging in boxes the donated items, on a day that began at 9:00 a.m. and ended at 5:30 p.m.

The contributions consisted of packets of water, toiletries, toilet paper, canned food, first aid medicines, clothes, blankets, diapers, baby food, cereals, batteries and flashlights, among others.

“In these times of emergency for our Ecuadorian neighbors , it is when you need to actually provide help. And help is precisely what drives the Miraistas “said Martha Pulgarín, director of MIRA USA Charlotte.

This week the House of Ecuadorian foundation will send aid to Atlanta, where the consulate will forward the donation products on humanitarian flights to the disaster area on the coast of Ecuador.
