Margate, Florida – On Saturday 27 of August, a group of more than 30 people attended the workshop organized by MIRA USA titled “Prepare and lose the fear to present an examination of citizenship” that took place in the library Margate Catherine Young. A group of about 15 volunteers Miraistas specialized in the subject made the event possible.

During the workshop, the participants become acquainted with what is expected, starting from the day in which they deliberately request for citizenship until the day they attend the naturalization ceremony.
The assistant attorney Mercy Perez and immigration attorney Raquel White gave a detailed lecture on the issues of eligibility, requirements, costs and exceptions of the naturalization process. Also in this segment, examples of cases where you would need legal assistance during the process were discussed. At the end of the presentation, participants received answers to their inquiries from the two experts.
Likewise, the bilingual volunteers organized the participants into small groups providing an opportunity for each attendee to practice responding and asking questions in English on the N-400 form. They also were able to study the civics questions to become prepared and thus lose the fear reassuring them for the important interview, and oral exam.
During the different points of the event, participants received practical advice to taking steps successfully towards the naturalization process and lose their fear during the interview. At the end of the seminar, there was a mock interview, which each of the assistants conducted with immigration officials actors and the event ended with the oath of allegiance to the United States and its national anthem.
Participants in the workshop showed their appreciation with MIRA USA for the event which allowed them to feel more confident and prepared to know what is needed to take this significant action in their lives.
