Philadelphia, Pennsylvania- MIRA USA recently organized a seminar during which Elizabeth Vukovic-Gartlan, a nutritionist and NYU graduate, answered questions that many parents in the United States frequently ask themselves: What should we eat? How much should we eat? What does our body need to eat?
The nutritionist, who currently works in New Jersey’s Child and Adult Care Food Program, made the workshop a very pleasant experience for all the attendees who learned that with little time, select food products and some creativity, they could prepare healthy foods that help to improve their family’s quality of life as well as prevent illnesses that are common in the Hispanic community such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems.
Chef Danilo Vukovic along with his wife supplied the attendees with delicious treats and tips to make vegetables more enjoyable. They also provided information on the food and nutrition programs offered by the city.
