On August 29, MIRA USA held another edition of its free “Overcome Your Fear of the Citizenship Test” workshop at the Poplar Creek Public Library in Streamwood, Illinois. The workshop was designed for permanent residents interested in learning more about the naturalization process and preparing in a practical way for each of its stages.

Throughout the session, participants reviewed civics questions, completed English reading and writing exercises, and went over important aspects of Form N-400, helping them strengthen their knowledge before the citizenship interview.

The workshop also included a comprehensive naturalization simulation with the support of volunteers from MIRA USA’s Chicago chapter. Participants practiced the interview, became familiar with the English and civics portions of the test, and took part in a representation of the Oath Ceremony, giving them a more realistic understanding of what they may encounter throughout the process.

This hands-on approach gave attendees the opportunity to ask questions, identify areas they may need to reinforce, and better understand each step of the naturalization process in a supportive learning environment.

Through initiatives like this, MIRA USA continues providing educational tools that help people prepare with greater knowledge, confidence, and readiness as they move toward U.S. citizenship.
