Sound The Alarm With American Red Cross.
On Saturday April 27th our organization participated simultaneously in 6 different cities throughout the country for the event “Sound The Alarm” alongside the American Red Cross. During this day the participating locations were Connecticut, West Palm Beach, Miami, Charlotte, Dover and Elizabeth.
During the event the volunteers were divided into different groups together with those from the Red Cross. Then they were distributed throughout the different areas of the community. With the goal to reach the most vulnerable areas which are at a greater risk of fires. Also, the fire department of each city was present at the event granting their support.
The purpose of this campaign to prevent domestic fires consisted of making home visits to those in the community and install or change the batteries of the smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
