MIRA USA Informs! Eviction Prevention Project in Pennsylvania

Considering the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, no officer, official, or other person employed by the Pennsylvania Judiciary at any level shall execute an eviction, removal, or displacement from a residence based upon the failure to make a monetary payment. Such payments include rent, loan and property tax payments. This order is extended through April 30, 2020.

In addition, if your landlord changes your locks, bars your door, cuts off your utilities, removes your possessions, or otherwise forces you out of your home, you can take the following steps:

1. Call 911 and report an illegal self-help eviction to the police
2. File an emergency petition with the Court of Common Pleas.
3. Follow a complaint with the Attorney General
www.attorneygeneral.gov/submit-a-complaint.

4. Call 267- 443- 2500 for the Tenant Hotline

We remind you that dates and places are subject to change.
