According to Regalado, the fact that MIRA USA is cooperating with the Miami River Commission and the cleanup of the river is highly valued because it sends a clear message to the community that there are groups of volunteers who care about the environment, are interested in maintaining a clean city and want residents to enjoy their natural treasures.
“These events are important because after the port of Miami, the second port is the river [in Miami] and this is one of the most valuable ones we have in the city, this is a working river, but a river where many residents, where tens of thousands of people gather each year to enjoy, ” Mayor Regalado noted.
Likewise, Mr. Horacio Stuart Aguirre, president of the Miami River Commission, expressed the same and indicated that the event could not have been carried out without the invaluable contribution of MIRA USA.
The celebration brought together more than two thousand five hundred people to enjoy wholesome and free entertainment for children and adults, such as environmental education, historical tours, kayak races, live music, a wonderful landscape on tours boat, among other things.
