The event was organized by the “Northern Alliance for Immigrants” and had an attendance of more than 30 youth whom received free legal assistance from Miraists with the professional support of experienced immigration lawyers. Miraists helped processing applications and documents required to be covered by the deferred action program.
It is estimated that approximately 2.1 million immigrants came to the United States as children. If the “Dream Act” bill is passed these young adults would be allowed to quickly enter a provisional legal status as a first step and eventually a U.S. citizenship.
