Charlotte, NC – A group of Miraists participated in the sixth Creek ReLeaf Tree Planting. The purpose of this activity was planting 1,400 trees in order to reforest a stretch of Irwin Creek in West Charlotte, which is often flooded during the raining season.

The activity performed last Saturday November 22 started at 9:00am until noon in Whitehurst Road and brought more than 400 volunteers together from different groups that work protecting the environment.
Councilman John Autry, who was a special guest in the closing ceremony, thanked the MIRA USA members not only for their work but also for being the only Latinos participating in the environmental day.
