MIRA USA volunteers help prepare a field to build a playground in a Latino community

Charlotte, NC – A neighborhood of mobile homes northeast of Charlotte will finally have a playground that will benefit more than 200 Latino children.  After dozens of Miraistas and Kingswood residents were given the task of paving the ground where the playground will be placed.

The activity was held on Saturday, July 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Adults, youth, and children worked enthusiastically to clean the place of weeds, debris, trash, trees, and branches. 

The project was accomplished through a fund of 25 thousand dollars donated by the City of Charlotte . Kingswood park leader Maria Urena participated alongside  MIRA USA local director Martha Pulgarin.

Maria Ureña said,” With today’s activity we have fulfilled our commitment to the city, we  are ready to have a park and see our dream come true. 

After an arduous a day, happiness filled the heart of our volunteers when finalizing the task .Miraistas enjoyed a lunch prepared by the community.
