On February 1, 2025, the MIRA USA branches in Elizabeth and Dover, NJ, partnered with the American Red Cross for the first-ever “Sound the Alarm, Save a Life” campaign held in Union City. This community initiative aims to reduce the number of home fires through education and preventive action.

A dedicated team of 30 MIRA USA volunteers canvassed designated neighborhoods, as assigned by the city, visiting 185 homes to provide families with essential fire safety information. In addition, the team installed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in key areas of the homes to enhance safety measures.

By the end of the day, 100 alarms had been installed, directly benefiting 64 families in the community. The activity concluded successfully, with positive feedback from city officials, the American Red Cross, MIRA USA, and Union City’s fire prevention team.
