On August 9, MIRA USA hosted the free workshop “Overcoming the Fear of the Citizenship Exam” in Chicago, Illinois, designed to support individuals in the process of obtaining U.S. citizenship.

More than 30 participants attended this hands-on session, which included a full simulation of the citizenship process, from completing required forms to the final interview.

During the workshop, MIRA USA volunteers guided attendees through each step:

  • Practice of the U.S. civics questions and answers
  • Completion exercises for official forms
  • Simulated interviews with English-speaking volunteers, who provided personalized feedback on strengths and areas for improvement

This interactive approach allowed participants to build confidence, identify opportunities for growth, and receive tailored guidance relevant to their individual needs.

Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, attendees were able to prepare more effectively and confidently for this important step toward citizenship.

The workshop was conducted as part of MIRA USA’s Immigration Assistance Program, reaffirming our commitment to social inclusion and educational guidance for immigrant communities across the United States.
