On June 13, MIRA USA held the free “Overcome Your Fear of the Citizenship Exam” workshop at the Peterstown Community Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, creating a space designed to guide and prepare individuals who are moving forward with their naturalization process.
During the workshop, participants learned about the main stages of the U.S. citizenship process and reviewed civics questions, as well as some of the questions that may come up during the naturalization interview, particularly those related to the information included in the citizenship application.
Practical recommendations were also shared to help participants approach the interview with greater confidence, including the importance of appropriate presentation, how to properly address the immigration officer, and the need to maintain a respectful and confident attitude throughout the process.
As part of the activity, attendees participated individually in mock interviews conducted with the support of MIRA USA volunteers, allowing them to put what they had learned into practice, become more familiar with the interview process, and strengthen their preparation.
At the end of the workshop, participants expressed that they felt better prepared and more confident about continuing their process. Through initiatives like this, MIRA USA continues to provide guidance and preparation opportunities that help individuals access clear and useful information to approach the citizenship process with greater knowledge and confidence.
