On August 29, 2026, MIRA USA held the “Overcome Your Fear of the Citizenship Exam” workshop at the Maureen B. Gauza Public Library in Tampa, Florida. The event brought together 60 participants interested in learning more about the naturalization process and preparing with greater confidence for their citizenship interview.

During the event, 40 attendees participated in an informational session covering eligibility requirements, required documentation, the different stages of the naturalization process, and important aspects of the interview.

The workshop also featured immigration attorney Danielle Hernandez, who answered questions, provided legal guidance, and offered free consultations to attendees.

At the same time, 20 participants joined a practical session led by MIRA USA bilingual volunteers. They reviewed Form N-400, civics questions, and the reading and writing exercises included in the exam. They also took part in a mock interview that allowed them to become more familiar with the process and practice their responses in a supportive learning environment.

At the end of the workshop, several participants shared that they felt more prepared, confident, and at ease about their upcoming interview. Their interest in future activities also reflected the positive reception of the event and the importance of continuing to provide accessible preparation and guidance.

The success of this workshop in Tampa highlighted the value of combining information, practice, and personalized support. With the help of its volunteers and guest professionals, MIRA USA continues to bring practical resources closer to those preparing for each stage of the naturalization process.
