This workshop took place at the public library, Buenaventura Lakes Library, to help residents of Kissimmee and its surrounding areas lose the fear of taking this significant step to consolidate their immigration status in the United States.

MIRA USA had the opportunity to serve its community through this workshop, which benefited several Hispanic residents who are in the process of applying for citizenship or are waiting for the interview.

The workshop lasted 4 hours, during which time the volunteers explained how they should present themselves the day of the interview, which documents to bring, and what requirements must are required to begin this process.

Accompanying the volunteers, was, the immigration officer Javier Tamayo informing about all the requirements to qualify as a candidate to obtain his US citizenship. Tamayo was answering questions and concerns that the participants had, to which he was able to respond with clarity based on his work experience with USCIS.

In the afternoon, they organized into groups with bilingual volunteers to review the questions on the N-400 form so they could hear the questions in English. Consequently, they studied the 100 civics questions more dynamically, using the cards with questions and answers in English.

At the end of this activity, the students had the opportunity to pass a simulacrum with our volunteers. The workshop concluded with the flag oath and the National Anthem of the United States.
