Building a Bridge Between Learning at School and Home

Atlanta, GA – MIRA USA held a free workshop on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Gwinnett Public Library in Suwanee, GA. The workshop was aimed at parents with school-age children, covering related topics such as empowerment and building a bridge between learning at school and home, and the most common learning problems in young children. With the attendance of more than 60 people, our invited panelists, Master Vanessa McClure, Master Nira C. Taru and Psychologist Lina Muñoz; They supported us voluntarily providing the relevant information to our community.

At the beginning of the workshop, Master Vanessa gave a preamble of the points of the workshop. Next, Ms. Nira explained the types of help parents can look for in schools and discussed in more detail how to access the different resources they offer. In the end, Psychologist Lina gave some guidelines on how to help children at home with things from school.

Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and in the end, some of them shared their experiences with us. In this workshop participants were able to obtain valuable information about how they can help their children at home with problems in school as well as in education.

In the survey conducted at the end of the day, we found that the participants requested a continuity to this topic and go further into the information they received. The workshop was totally a success
