Great Night of Awards and Recognitions at MIRA USA Gala 2018

Charlotte, NC- Enthusiasm and joy were the characteristics that marked the MIRA USA Gala 2018, which took place on Friday, November 2nd in Charlotte and in which the work of the most outstanding volunteers of the year was recognized, and the work of MIRA USA was highlighted.
More than 200 people that attended the gala were able to enjoy a delicious dinner, nice music and participate in exciting raffles of gifts donated by the sponsors and in games where they were motivated to learn about MIRA USA.
The evening was hosted by Carolina Cortez, director of the MIRA USA Charlotte branch, and Carlos González, who with their charisma and sympathy kept, the attendees entertained.

After a presentation of the institutional video of MIRA USA, Cortez was in charge of mentioning the activities carried out in the areas of Immigration and Environment, as well as the achievements obtained in 2018.
On the evening that began at 7:00 p.m. and was extended until 11:00 p.m., the work of all the volunteers was acknowledged, to whom a parchment of thanks was delivered.
One of the most anticipated moments of the night was the “Hormiga de Oro” (Ant of Gold) award, which this year was given to Johana Rangel, being the most outstanding volunteer of the year, and Luz Marina MartÃnez, for her determination and dedication in every work done for the miraist cause.
“When you start being a volunteer in MIRA USA, you are not just giving to MIRA USA, but MIRA USAÂ builds you up, changes you as a person, and makes you grow,” MartÃnez said. “My invitation is for everyone to join this beautiful family, being a volunteer is beautiful because we do it from the bottom of our hearts,” she added.
On the other side, Rubén Granados, owner of the restaurants: La Riviera MarisquerÃa, La Taquiza, and Las Meras Tortas, was thanked for his support given in recent years to donate dinner for the gala and collaborate in other miraists activities.
During the night many raffles were held, which kept the attendees excited to win from cuts and hair keratins, restaurants and supermarkets certificates, to a personal computer and a tablet for children.
Those present also had the opportunity to learn about MIRA USA, and at the same time win prizes for participating in the “trivia” and have the correct answers.
The gala was enlivened by singers Johnny Vergara and David Canals, who won the applause of the audience by performing with their excellent voices, popular salsa hits and romantic songs in English and Spanish.
