Last Saturday, July 17, 2021, MIRA USA in partnership with the American Red Cross and through the “Global Alliance” program presented the virtual workshop: Be Ready for the Hurricane Season through the Zoom platform.
This workshop was attended by more than 80 people who had the opportunity to learn and understand what a hurricane is and its possible impacts on the community, the actions to take before, during and after a hurricane, what important items an evacuation kit should include, among others.
Martha Bonano, Zamayra Robles and Alba Liliana Miranda, MIRA USA volunteers who were trained by the Texas Regional Preparedness Directorate participated and presented the topics to the audience.
Also, Jose Bueno, Disaster Preparedness Manager for the Florida and Virgin Islands region, joined us and answered questions at the end of the presentation.
It is important to know that at MIRA USA we are committed to our Immigrant Community because Helping Moves Us!
