Through the CUNY/Daily News Citizenship NOW! 2018 event, 600 people pursuing citizenship were assisted with their applications and issues related to it as well. Many applicants were surprised to find they qualified to receive a “fee waiver” with their citizenship application and other benefits they were unaware of. Also, Pro-bono Attorneys were ready to provide legal assistance to general and specific questions about citizenship concerns, making this event impactful among those who attended.

Special guests visited the event held at John Jay College to motivate volunteers participating in the immigration fair. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Council Member Matthew Eugene, YouTube star Killadamente, and other elected officials of New York City were in attendance.

During this event, MIRA USA together with others that contributed,  helped many achieve the dream of being citizens of the United States. Actions with results because “HELPING US MOVES US”.
