The event was hosted by Attorney Adalberto Ruiz, an expert on immigration matters who answered questions and clarified doubts from attendees about particular cases with USCIS (the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services).
Another important point in the workshop was the invitation that lawyer Ruiz shared to join us in the community to defend our position as an immigrant community in accordance with the most recent adjustments to immigration laws. He also mentioned the importance of belonging to different organizations such as MIRA USA, in order to be close to the needs of the immigrant population and work from volunteering to help mitigate the possible impacts of immigration reforms. In the same way, He motivated the public to participate politically in the right to elect and be elected, to have a voice and vote in the different spaces of choice for decision making.
The workshop ended with the thanks of lawyer Ruiz for the invitation to the event and mentioned the interest in continuing to work with MIRA USA in different spaces to help the immigrant population. Finally, the attendees felt comfortable with the advice of the lawyer to each of the situations exposed in the meeting.
