Queens, NY \u2013 The An Angel in Queens Foundation, that has delivered hot home-made meals\u00a0to day laborers and those in need from the Queens, New York area every single night since\u00a02004, has been selected by Chase bank to compete with charities nation wide to receive\u00a0between USD$125K up to USD$1 million in donations, depending on the number of votes\u00a0each organization receives through the American Giving Awards <\/em><\/span>on Facebook. (Click here to\u00a0<\/span>vote<\/strong><\/a>)<\/span><\/p>\n

Polls open on November 27<\/em>th<\/em><\/span>, 2012 at 12:00 a.m. ET and close on December 4<\/em>th<\/em><\/span>, 2012 at\u00a0<\/em>11:59:59 a.m. ET<\/em><\/p>\n

Twenty-five past Chase Community Giving <\/span>grant recipients\u20145 charities in 5 different\u00a0categories\u2014have been chosen to participate in the American Giving Awards, presented by\u00a0Chase. The 5 charity categories are as follows: 1.) Educators & Mentors; 2.) Champions of\u00a0Health & Wellness; 3.) Heroes & Leaders; 4.) Community Builders; and 5.) Youth Developers.<\/p>\n

For Jorge Munoz, president and founder, \u201cwhile the money is essential for us to continue our\u00a0<\/em>mission, the most important thing is the support I have seen from our community and knowing\u00a0<\/em>that you are not really doing it for neither for Jor<\/em>ge Munoz nor the foundation as such, but for the\u00a0<\/em>guys to whom we give a hot meal each night.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Of these five charities, the charity with the most votes in their respective category will receive\u00a0$1 million, the runner up will receive $500,000, the 3rd <\/span>place charity will receive $250,000, and\u00a0the 4th <\/span>and 5th <\/span>place charities will each receive $125,000 grants.<\/p>\n

Your vote can help Jorge Munoz \u2013 awarded as CNN Hero in 2009 and recipient of the Citizens\u00a0Medal bestowed by President Barack Obama in 2010 by his tireless work to help those in need\u00a0\u2013 to not only continue his mission, through which he has delivered over 100K meals, but to\u00a0continue growing.<\/p>\n
