Additionally, the Texas Supreme Court has issued an order in support of the CDC&#8217;s declared moratorium.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"#MIRAUSAInforms: COVID-19 Eviction Moratorium\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3cGZDTbFn1o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who qualifies?<\/strong><br \/>I. Those who have done your best to take advantage of government assistance for housing and rent.<br \/>II. Those who meet which one of these income requirements:<br \/>a. You will earn less than $99,000 (or $198,000 when combined with your spouse) this year<br \/>b. You were not required to pay taxes in 2019<br \/>c. You qualified for an income stimulus check earlier this year.<br \/>III. You are unable to make your full rent or housing payment because of a loss of income or large medical expense<br \/>IV. If evicted, you would either become homeless or enter a shared living space (like living with a family member or staying at a shelter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are the next steps?<\/strong><br \/>I. Every adult listed on your lease should fill out the declaration.<br \/>II. Take the declaration(s) to your landlord.<br \/>III. Make sure to document that you delivered the declaration \u2014 by video, by getting a signature, or through certified mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that this order only delays evictions. You are still required to pay rent and other housing payments, including late fees and penalties.
