ORLANDO, Fla. – In Central Florida, dozens of Miraists joined the annual event known as “Hands Across the Land” near downtown Orlando at Lake Ivanhoe in Gaston Edwards Park.

MIRA USA joined environmental organizations such as Surfrider Foundation and The Sierra Club to participate actively in this peaceful demonstration in which once a year in May, participants throughout the country simultaneously hold hands in front of beaches, rivers and lakes.
Like thousands of people in the United States and the world, the community in Central Florida uses this event to express support for the use of renewable energy and disapproval for the irresponsible use of polluting fuels.
This environmental initiative originated in 2010 in the United States as a reaction to BP PLC’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
