Carderock, Md.- Every year, the Potomac Conservancy, an environmental organization in Maryland, awards their outstanding volunteers. On July 28, the organization awarded MIRA USA with the “volunteer of the year award” for its continued excellent support in the work of environmental care.

The symbolic act occurred during the environmental organization’s Annual Picnic on the Potomac that was held at Carderock Pavilion in Carderock, Md. 

Representatives of the Potomac Conservancy expressed their gratitude to MIRA USA and highlighted the work Miraists have done to help clean and restore the Potomac River such as removing bamboo to donate as food for giant pandas at The Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C.
