ORLANDO, Fla. – To the sound of music, traditional dances, native costumes and delicious Colombian Cuisine, the first cultural festival, “Colombia With You” took place on Sunday, July 28th in the city of Orlando. Hundreds of people gathered and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with their families. This celebration captivated both adults and children with its enriched cultural program.

Several community organizations such as Mi Familia Vota, My Soccer Academy, Maria Luisa International Foundation, BBT Bank and Florida Business Chamber COLUSA, sponsored this great celebration of Independence in this Central Florida Area.

Local celebrities such as Radio Host and Journalist, Rafael Botero and Actress/ Model, Karla Diesseldorf, joined MIRA USA on stage as co hosts and helped give out some prizes of the raffles and contests. Magician Borjini made an appearance to entertain the young and old audience. In addition, talented folkloric artist, Juan Joropo, came to enlighten the crowd with his “Musica llanera”, followed by the dance group, “Asi es mi Folklore”, who bedazzled everyone with their rhythm, cultural dances and costumes.

All children who were dressed up with this country’s attire participated in a TOYSRUS raffle. Also, prizes were awarded to the best decorated booth. Everyone had a chance to participate in a cultural scavenger hunt contest called, “Did you know that..?” based on facts of Colombian Culture.
