Orlando-independencia-colombia-imageOrlando, Florida- On July 15, Orlando’s MIRA USA team participated in the celebration of Colombia’s Independence Day which took place in the Hunter’s Creek area. Yellow, blue and red decorations filled the streets and not even the heavy rain showers dampened the specators’ high spirits.

Entire families and groups of friends enjoyed the event while listening to music, watching folkloric presentations, seeing celebrities and eating delicious Colombian food.

Many people who had not seen each other in years were able to spend time together during this event which also brought together Colombian businesses and organizations from the area of Orlando and Kissimmee, as well as the Colombian Consulate.

The celebration began at noon when all the participants sang Colombia’s national anthem and continued until 8pm.

According to many people, such unity in the city’s Colombian community had not been seen in a long time. Many Venezuelans, Ecuadorians, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and Dominicans also attended the event and visited MIRA USA’s booth.
