Kendall, Florida – “Know the truth about your heart!” was the name of the MIRAUSA conference held on April 28 in the town of Kendall, FL, where participants were taught about heart disease and how to prevent it. Today, knowledge of this illness is essential as it has become a major public health issue in the United States. The conference was led by Dr. Fulgencio Garcia Guzman, the head of the Cardiology Department of SanBlas Hospital in Bogota, Colombia.

The event was very constructive because of the simple, everyday language that Dr. Guzman used to describe the anatomy and physiology of the heart, as well as its connection with other metabolic diseases. He also provided specific guidelines for preventing these health conditions and improving one’s overall health.  MIRA USA used the activity as an opportunity to provide information about the benefits, discounts and services offered by the government and other organizations to Miami-Dade County residents so they could access health care in the medical centers of the area.
